I sometimes forget how Dedede isn’t a villain and him and Kirby are more rivals than anything. He often gets grouped with Bowser and other Nintendo villains and the anime set an incorrect non-canon image for him but do I love how him and Kirby aren’t true enemies. Even in the Smash Bros. Brawl storyline he’s only turning heroes into trophies because he’s knowleadgble about Tabuu is cooking up a plan to help save the day. He and Kirby get so many cute scenes.
Plus, god, do the cute scenes of them water my crops <3

Filed under 90% of the time when dedede and kirby clash it's cause dedede is trying to seal away or keep back the big bad with morally grey actions necessary to keep his subjects alive and kirby is a force of nature that just decides to wreck the whole system and kill the bad guy forcing dedede into doing stuff that he'd rather not do so i think it'd make sense that dedede would view kirby somewhat positively
